Fancy plywood is nature wood veneered plywood. It is widely used in furniture making, door faces, and indoor decorations. Fancy plywood is made with a plywood baseboard with a decorative hardwood veneer laminated on the face. The back is usually cheap poplar wood to reduce costs. Cabinet plywood, also fancy plywood, is usually plywood veneered with beautiful hardwood veneers, such as Alder, Ash, Beech, Birch, Black Walnut, Cherry, Maple, Hickory, Red Oak, Sapelli, Mohagany, Teak and so on. Fancy plywood is used where the look of plywood is more critical. So the natural veneers should have nice grain and be a top grade (A grade). The fancy board should be very flat and not warp or bend.
